The Black Immigrant Capacity
Building Project

ABOUT US
The Black Immigrant Capacity Building Project (BICBP) is a newly organized network and resource fund, dedicated to assisting growth, development, and service supports to Philadelphia-based Black immigrant-led organizations. Our mission is to strengthen local Black immigrant-led organizations and to increase their capacity both through network collaboration, mentorship, training, shared development opportunities, and monetary grants. We aspire to be an incubator for the African- and Caribbean-led organizations in Philadelphia. We envision a future marked by sustainability, preservation, celebration of cultures and traditions, and the creation of generational wealth.
OUR OPERATING FUNCTIONS

Fund Building
To ensure BICBP achieves its goal of long-term resource accessibility, we are building and maintaining a grant fund. This grant fund will be used to administer organizational capacity-building grants, fund training and development opportunities for potential grantees, fund appropriate and mission-aligned calls to action, and fund necessary research to ensure BICBP's offerings continue to remain aligned with the growing and changing needs of the community it serves.

Grant Allocation
Organizations offering direct services, including health, social, youth, legal, immigration, professional training and development, and advocacy services are encouraged to apply for a BICBP capacity-building grant. Grants will be approved and allocated based on organization eligibility, amount requested, and fund availability. Grantees are required to report on the use and impact of their funds (reporting schedules will be determined upon approval of each grant).

Training and Development
Beyond monetary grants, BICBP works to ensure it has sourced meaningful and effective training and development opportunities for grantee organizations as a form of sustainable capacity building. Organizations are encouraged to apply to training and development opportunities or request a reference guide for outsourced opportunities. Grantees may also seek mentorship and coaching opportunities with the advisory committee's advising organizations.
